About Smartcanula

Smartcanula (Smartcanula Sàrl, Lausanne, with the German sales company Blood Wiring Systems GmbH in Frankfurt am Main) develops, produces and distributes the self-expanding Venous MICS Smart Canula for peripheral venous cannulation in minimally invasive cardiac surgery (MICS) and other extracorporeal circulation procedures. The product consists of a super-flexible, lattice-like tube made of a shape memory alloy that self-expands inside the vein, improves venous drainage and counteracts venous collapse (chattering) – even in narrow or tortuous vessels and during reinterventions. The class III medical device has carried the CE mark since 2009. Distribution is handled worldwide by exclusive distributors with regulatory support, clinical assistance, training and service.
