Cemented carbide expertise from Kapfenberg
Boehlerit is a family-owned Austrian cemented carbide and tool manufacturer headquartered in Kapfenberg in Styria and, since 1991, part of the Brucklacher Group (Leitz, Bilz, Boehlerit). The company produces cemented carbide cutting materials, semi-finished products, precision tools and tool systems for milling, turning, drilling, parting/grooving and forming, as well as cemented carbide construction parts and wear protection components for metal, wood, plastics and composite materials. Production follows the powder metallurgy process chain: pressing (including piston extrusion of profiles and rods), sintering, mechanical machining such as peripheral grinding of indexable inserts, and CVD and PVD/HiPIMS coating. Specialized products cover, among other things, crankshaft machining, rotary peeling, tube and sheet metal processing and heavy machining; as a development partner for toolmakers, the company offers expertise in metallurgy, coating technology and pressing technology as well as finite element simulation. With 700 employees group-wide (470 in Kapfenberg), Boehlerit generates annual revenue of around 120 million euros with an export share of 90%; 5% of revenue flows into research and development.
