BÖWE-Elektrik GmbH was founded in 1990 in Kraftsdorf (Thuringia) and is a medium-sized manufacturer of customized cable solutions with more than 180 employees at two locations in Europe. The core competency is customer-specific cable assembly – from individual wires to complex cable harnesses that can be combined with electronic and electromechanical components. Technologies include plastic injection molding as well as overmolding and potting of cables and connectors, resistance welding and ultrasonic welding. In-house tool and fixture construction, the design of manufacturing equipment, as well as control system and control cabinet construction round out the manufacturing depth. Since 2005, the company has also developed and marketed special-purpose machines for cable processing such as shield brushing machines, shield milling machines, shield twisters and wire twisters. Customers come from, among others, the automotive industry and mechanical engineering (printing, injection molding, metal-forming, machine tool, food and packaging machinery); as a cable system manufacturer, BÖWE operates worldwide.
