flexi is the dog leash brand of Bogdahn International GmbH & Co. KG, based in Bargteheide near Hamburg. The company manufactures the original retractable leash, a retractable lead with patented retraction technology, in various collections such as Classic, Comfort Plus, Xtreme, One, Giant and Leather. According to the manufacturer, the products undergo more than 100 tests before going on sale. The first model was developed in 1972 from the starter mechanism of a chainsaw, encased in two wooden shells. The company distributes its products worldwide and offers multilingual country versions in eleven languages. The range is complemented by a dog blog with expert tips as well as customer service with a complaint handling service.
