BOGEN Magnetics GmbH, based in Berlin-Zehlendorf, is a manufacturer of magnetic sensors, magnetic rings and magnetic tapes for position, speed and motion measurement. Founded in 1951, the company develops and produces magnetic measuring solutions for absolute and incremental measurement of position, angle, speed and rotational speed in industrial automation and control systems. The focus is on custom OEM solutions as well as a standard product range consisting of magnetic measuring heads, linear and rotary magnetic scales, magnetic rings and accessories such as aluminium carrier profiles. Manufacturing ranges from prototype development to high-volume series production and includes, among other things, plastic injection moulding, casting resin technology (potting in ring construction), tool and jig making, coil winding, and the encoding of linear and rotary scales using a patented special process with freely selectable magnetic patterns. Magnetic heads are made from core materials such as ferrite, permalloy and sendust, also in HiCo and LoCo versions. Magnetic measuring systems achieve accuracies of ±10 µm/m or 3 µm and operate contactlessly even in environments with dust, oil and vibration. Customers include industrial robotics, medical and surgical robotics, industrial automation, automotive imaging systems as well as aerospace. Since 2020 the company has been part of the Lika Electronic Srl Group (Italy).
