About Bolsius
Bolsius is a Dutch family business that has been developing and producing candles since 1870. The product range includes tealights, pillar and dinner candles, scented candles, rustic candles, grave and memorial lights, outdoor and citronella candles as well as refillable candles (Refillable Candles). The products are partly made on the basis of wax and by-products of the oil industry; with the impact strategy Reduce, Care & Engage, the company pursues a reduction of this footprint, including an ongoing life cycle analysis for sustainable wax purchasing. Bolsius signs up to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and is committed to the Paris Agreement with SBTi climate targets. On its recertification as a B Corp under the new V2 standards (2026), the company reports an emission reduction of 18 percent compared to the baseline. With approximately 1,000–1,200 employees, products are produced and sold in more than 50 countries.
