About Boosey & Hawkes

Boosey & Hawkes is an internationally active specialist publisher of classical and contemporary art music. The company administers and licenses music rights for performances, recordings and broadcasting, for film, TV, advertising and video games, and for the printing and digital distribution of sheet music (print and digital). The offering includes rental materials (Rental Library), theatrical licensing, management of composition commissions, as well as programme notes and composer biographies. The repertoire comprises works by major composers of the 20th century such as Stravinsky, Copland, Britten, Bartók, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Khachaturian, Strauss and Rachmaninoff, as well as exclusive contracts with contemporary composers such as John Adams, Unsuk Chin, Anna Clyne, Sofia Gubaidulina, Karl Jenkins, James MacMillan, Olga Neuwirth, Steve Reich and Mark-Anthony Turnage. The company was formed in 1930 through the merger of Boosey & Company and Hawkes & Son and sold its instrument division in 2003 to concentrate fully on publishing. Since 2017, Boosey & Hawkes has been part of Concord. Locations are London (Rest of World), New York (North and South America) and Berlin (German-speaking territories; Boosey & Hawkes Bote & Bock GmbH, Anton J.
