BORAG Bodenrecycling Allgäu GmbH operates in Marktoberdorf the first stationary biological remediation facility for contaminated soil and construction rubble in Bavaria. Since 1992, soils and mineral substances have been cleaned using a special microbiological process; the company thus ranks among the high-capacity providers of soil and construction rubble remediation in southern Germany. As the first facility of this kind in Bavaria, it set standards in terms of environmental safety, technology and operation. An industrial site of approx. 2.2 ha was developed for the soil recycling facility; remediation takes place in a hall of approx. 4,800 m² (120 x 40 m), which is partially solid construction and complies with the guidelines of the trade supervision authority as well as occupational health and emissions protection. The entire remediation site is sealed against the subsoil; drainage pipes with inspection shafts capture potential leachate. BORAG is part of the Hubert Schmid corporate group.
