About the Borbe Corporate Group

The Borbe corporate group was founded in 1991 by Volker Borbe as a mineral oil trading business in Stralsund and expanded in 1998 to include Borbe Transport KG. The mineral oil trade supplies private households, businesses, and filling stations in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen with heating oil, diesel fuel, petrol, and lubricants; this also includes the sale and transport of bulk goods as well as, as a Linde partner, the sale of technical gases. With a fleet of around 70 vehicles, Borbe Transport KG operates in freight transport nationwide and throughout Europe, including hazardous goods transports, steel transports, beverage transports with certified trailers, and transports with tippers, low-loaders, and roll-off containers. At the Stralsund-Koppelstraße site, the company also operates the "Rügentor" rest stop with a filling station, bistro, car wash, and workshop. The owner-managed KG employs around 40 staff.

History

1. 1991

   Founding of the Stralsund mineral oil trade by Volker Borbe on 1 September, initially on the Stralsund harbor grounds

2. 1998

   Expansion into Stralsund mineral oil trade and transport (Borbe Transport KG); move to the new company headquarters at Koppelstr. 3+5 with inauguration on 1 September and start of operation of a public filling station

3. 2021

   New vehicles with a new design

4. Introduction of electric trucks; certified beverage trailers, fleet of approx. 70 vehicles, 15 of which in the mineral oil trade
