Family business and international automotive player
BORBET is a family-owned manufacturer of light-alloy wheels headquartered in Hallenberg-Hesborn (North Rhine-Westphalia). The company develops and produces aluminium wheels for more than 30 vehicle manufacturers and coachbuilders as an original equipment supplier as well as for the international retail trade; according to its own figures, every fifth car in Europe drives on BORBET wheels. Production is based on low-pressure die casting and Smart Casting in the aluminium alloy AlSi7Mg, complemented by FlowForming and High Performance Casting for lightweight, high-strength wheels up to 22 inches (partly 24 inches). The entire value chain – from design through engineering, toolmaking, casting, machining, finishing (painting, pad printing, ring printing, diamond milling, diamond turning, laser) to assembly – takes place under one roof. Around 4,000 employees at eight sites in Germany, Austria and South Africa produce wheels for combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles; in 2025 more than 14.2 million wheels were shipped. In 2024 BORBET acquired the British wheel manufacturer Dymag Technologies Limited.

Materials and processes
AlSi7Mg
Special aluminium alloy for light-alloy wheels in low-pressure die casting and Smart Casting.
Aluminium (Recycling)
Use of pre-consumer, post-consumer and low-carbon aluminium; chips and scrap wheels are remelted without any loss of quality.
Heat-resistant plastics / 2K materials
For aerodynamic plastic inserts on rims, partly with a high recycling rate.
Tool steel
For mould lower cores in in-house toolmaking with CNC milling.
