About Borealis

Borealis is a provider of polyolefin solutions headquartered in Vienna. The company produces polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE), base chemicals as well as tailored PP compounds for injection molding and extrusion. A key focus is the mechanical recycling of post-consumer plastics into polyolefin recyclates and recompounds (brands Recleo™ and Borcycle™ M) for demanding injection molding and thermoforming applications. In Europe, Borealis is represented with production, recycling and research sites in Austria, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Finland, including PP production in Burghausen with around 560,000 t/year and the RecyClass-certified recycling sites Niedergebra and Fürstenwalde (mtm plastics). Customer industries include packaging, automotive, energy technology, infrastructure, healthcare and consumer goods. Borealis employs around 6,200 people and supplies customers in more than 120 countries; in 2024 a total revenue of around EUR 7,951 million was achieved.
