About Bossert + Kast
Bossert + Kast GmbH + Co. KG, based in Pforzheim, was founded in 1894 and originally operated as a manufactory for handcrafted jewellery chains (colliers, sautoirs). In the early 1990s, the company introduced textile manufacturing techniques to the jewellery industry (brands Cascade®, Chalif®, Cocoon®) and transferred its expertise in processing ultra-fine metal wires to technical applications. Today the company develops and manufactures technical braids, braided hoses, endless coils and the patented protective hose SensoBo®, which is used mainly in endoscopy and laser technology. Braiding is carried out by machine on braiding machines with 12, 16, 18, 24 and 48 carriers in wire diameters from 0.02 mm to 0.2 mm; materials processed include stainless steel, tungsten, nitinol, non-ferrous metals and plastics. The range of services includes consulting, analysis of existing production, manufacturer-neutral machine selection, prototype and zero-series production, re-engineering and construction of braiding machines as well as support during production ramp-up on customer machines; larger volumes are referred to cooperation partners. Through a university cooperation, scientific support and fundamental research are available. Typical fields of application are medical technology, laser technology and industrial applications.
