BPB Stahlbau GmbH from Steinhagen near Bützow is an owner-managed family business in its second generation and manufactures steel structures for industrial, plant, power plant, bridge, residential and commercial construction. Its range of services includes CAD-based design and planning, CNC-controlled in-house workshop manufacturing and on-site assembly – supplemented by roof and façade construction with trapezoidal sheet metal and sandwich panels as well as a rebar bending shop for prefabricated reinforcing steel with diameters from 6 to 32 mm. On an operating base area of 25,000 m² with 6,000 m² of production space, up to 3,500 t of steel structures, up to 10,000 t of reinforcing steel and around 30,000 m² of roof and façade sheet metal are produced annually. As a certified manufacturer in execution class EXC3 (EN 1090), the company also realizes turnkey construction projects as general contractor. References include combined heat and power plants, test benches, bridges and hall buildings for customers such as Vattenfall, Stadtwerke Schwerin, Volkswagen, YARA and the Lübeck Port Authority.

History
- 1989
The state-owned district enterprise for agricultural technology is converted into the trust-administered LCM Landtechnik und Maschinenbau GmbH.
- 1990
The specialized tractor overhaul division reorients itself towards steel segment components.
- 1992
Ulrich Bacher and Dieter Bittner found BPB Stahlbau GmbH and purchase part of LCM from the Treuhandanstalt – with an obligation to take over 40 jobs and 1.1 million DM in investments.

Investments in sawing, drilling and cutting technology; expansion of roof and façade technology.
