About Brauerei Diebels
Die Brauerei Diebels GmbH & Co. KG is a brewery company based in Issum on the Lower Rhine that produces beer products. The company was founded in 1878 by the Krefeld master brewer Josef Diebels. Until the early 1970s, nearly all beer varieties common in Germany were brewed; afterwards, the company specialized in top-fermented Altbier, making it the largest German Altbier brewery with a market share of over 50 percent. Around 2000/2001, annual production was about 1,500,000 hectoliters, and in 2016 it was 350,000 hectoliters. Since the shutdown of a filling line in 2024, only Diebels Alt (4.9 % vol) has been produced. In addition, products of the brewery Beck & Co., which also belongs to the AB InBev group, are bottled in Issum. The company belongs to Anheuser-Busch InBev Germany Holding GmbH in Bremen.
