About Brauerei Eichhof
Brauerei Eichhof AG, based in Lucerne, is one of the most traditional breweries in Switzerland. Its roots go back to 1834, when Johann Guggenbühler first brewed beer at the Brauerei zum Löwengarten on the old Zurichstrasse. In 1922, the Brauerei Spiess and the Bayerische Brauhaus of Heinrich Endemann on the Eichhof estate merged to form Vereinigte Luzerner Brauereien; since 3 December 1960 the company has borne the name Brauerei Eichhof. In Lucerne, eleven different beers are brewed, including classics such as Lager and Braugold, craft legends such as Kloster and Hubertus, as well as Radler and non-alcoholic variants. Keg filling takes place in Lucerne, while bottle filling has been carried out since 2013 at the sister brewery Calanda Bräu in Chur. The brewhouse at the Obergrundstrasse site was newly opened in 2004. Since 2008, the brewery has belonged to Heineken Switzerland AG and is primarily represented in Central Switzerland.
