About the Brauerei Fohrenburg
Brauerei Fohrenburg GmbH & Co KG is a beer brewery founded in 1881 and based in Bludenz in Vorarlberg. The company produces around a dozen beer specialties, beer-mix beverages as well as lemonades and water in accordance with the Purity Law of 1516. The ingredients are crystal-clear Alpine spring water from the Silvretta-Arlberg massif, brewer's malt, hops and an in-house pure yeast culture with bottom-fermenting and top-fermenting yeast strains; for the organic beer, brewing barley grown regionally in Vorarlberg is used. Around 145,000 liters of beer are brewed per day, with up to 8 brews of 23,000 liters each in the brewhouse; the bottle filling line achieves 50,000 bottles per hour and the fully automatic keg filling line 120 kegs per hour. In addition to the main brewery in Bludenz, the sites include a location in Mäder (formerly s'Fäscht) and, since 2012, a distribution warehouse in Schnann. Since August 2025, the brewery has been 99.39% owned by Brau Union Österreich AG (Heineken Group).
