About Brauerei Ganter

The Brauerei Ganter brewery was founded in 1865 by Ludwig “Louis” Ganter in Freiburg im Breisgau and remains family-owned to this day. Since 1877, the company has produced at the Alte Ölmühle site in Freiburg's Oberau district, where its own brewing facilities with a deep well and power plant were built. The range includes a 4.9 % vol. pilsner, an export beer, light and dark wheat beers as well as bock and non-alcoholic beers; non-alcoholic lemonades and fruit juices are produced by the affiliated OGA, which was founded in 1922 for liqueur production. With a maximum capacity of 100,000 hl per year and an actual output of 80,000 hl (2023), the brewery supplies around 500 restaurants, mainly in kegs; approximately 10,000 hl are bottled annually. In addition, the company offers its original pub at Münsterplatz, brewery tours and events on the brewery premises. The brewery is a member of the Die Freien Brauer association.
