About us
The brewery inn Gut Forsting in Forsting near Pfaffing (district of Rosenheim) is a traditional inn in the Upper Bavarian Alpine foothills. The schnapps and beer tavern was first documented in 1540, at that time still around 200 metres further north at the edge of the forest. The present inn was built in 1670 by the owners of the Schmidramsl family, who ran the business together with farming and from 1871 to 1908 also operated the brewery. In 1908 there were two owners in equal shares: the Seidenbusch family from Amberg/Upper Palatinate and Josef Schieferl from Munich. In 1916 the cooperative was founded, which acquired the brewery, inn and farm; since then the restaurant and farm have been leased out several times, most recently for over 50 years to the Luger family. Today, the traditional brewery inn combines Bavarian hospitality with down-to-earth cuisine; the distance to Munich and to the Chiemgau region is short.
