About Brauerei Gold Ochsen
Brauerei Gold Ochsen GmbH is a brewery in Ulm with roots dating back to 1597, when Gabriel Mayer founded the inn, brewery and wine tavern Zum Goldenen Ochsen in Ulm's old town. Since 1867, the company has been owned by the Leibinger family and is run in its fifth generation by Ulrike Freund. The brewery produces beer varieties such as Ulmer Hell, Pils, Kellerbier, Hefeweizen and vintage beers, and since 2017 has also been bottling the Afri-Cola and Bluna brands of Mineralbrunnen Überkingen-Teinach AG. The brewing water comes exclusively from the Veitsbrunnen, the deepest well in Ulm at 234 meters, located directly on the brewery premises. Together with Ulmer Getränke Vertrieb GmbH (UGV), founded in 1960, Gold Ochsen forms the largest beverage network in the Danube-Iller region. Annual production is around 600,000 hectoliters of beverages, of which 240,000 hl is beer.
