About the Baumgartner Brewery

The Brauerei Jos. Baumgartner GmbH is an independent, group-free private brewery headquartered in Schärding in Upper Austria. The parent house was first mentioned in 1609 within the city walls of Schärding; since 1954 the production facility has been located just outside the city gates. The company produces a broad range of beer styles such as Märzen, Zwickl, Pils, Export, Weisse and Bock as well as beer-mix beverages and lemonades under the Baumgartner HEX brand. The rotary and fermentation processes run on modern, fully automated brewing technology; the brewing water comes from the company's own well, while hops and barley are sourced from farmers in the neighbouring Mühl and Inn regions. In addition to the brewery, the company operates further locations in Linz and St. Florian am Inn for beverage logistics and delivery through the Baumgartner-Spanlang Foundation. The brewery belongs to the non-profit Baumgartner-Spanlang Foundation, which supports non-profit facilities for disabled children and elderly people, and has been a member of the Association of Independent Private Breweries of Austria since 2022.
