About us
Brauerei Kummert GmbH & Co. KG is a traditional family brewery in the beer city of Amberg in the Upper Palatinate. Founded in 1927 by Franz Kummert as "Kummert Bräu", the company is today run by Franz Kummert in the fourth generation. Beer is brewed using traditional craftsmanship with selected raw materials: exclusively quality hops from the Hallertau as well as barley and wheat malt from the Upper Palatinate home region. The beers mature in the cool storage cellar and include, alongside the traditional variety "Kummert Hell", five wheat beer varieties whose brewing tradition dates back to 1949. In the in-house distillery, four varieties of beer brandy are produced, including a bock beer brandy made exclusively from Kummert's Doppelbock. The company also includes the beverage retail store "Sudhausquelle" and the brewery restaurant "Zum Kummert Bräu", both on Raigeringer Straße in Amberg.
