About Brauerei Mager Pottenstein

Brauerei Mager Pottenstein is a private brewery inn in the Franconian Switzerland region, family-owned since 1774. The brewery produces a range of eight beers, including Ur-Hell, Dunkel, Märzen, Pils, Pottensteiner Schlüggla as well as seasonal beers such as Rotbier, Bartholomäus festival beer and Christmas beer. Historically, the beer was transported by a horse-drawn team with a 4,000-litre dray cask to the rock cellar some 800 metres away, where it matured at 7 °C in wooden mother casks; the brewery's coat of arms shows this horse-drawn team. In addition to its own brewery, the establishment includes a restaurant serving Franconian cuisine, a beer garden, a roof terrace, two guest rooms with breakfast, as well as farm-gate beer sales and tent hire. The brewery yard offers space for celebrations such as the Bartholomäus church consecration fair and is suitable for company and club outings for up to 130 people.
