About Brauerei Messhofen

The Brauerei Messhofen is a traditional inn with its own brewery that has existed since 1841, located in the village of Messhofen in the municipality of Roggenburg in the Bavarian-Swabian Iller valley. Under the direction of owner Jan Opper, certified master brewer and beer sommelier, the well-known Märzen and the wheat beer continue to be brewed according to a time-honoured recipe. The brewing processes come from a tradition passed down over generations and include open fermentation and slow maturation; regional raw materials and fresh aroma hops are used. In addition to direct sales from the farm, the brewery supplies the hospitality businesses of the region. The business includes an inn with around 30 seats as well as a beer garden under old trees, where Bavarian cuisine and house-brewed beer are served. The brewery sees itself as the centre of the village and a meeting point for visitors from near and far.
