About Brauerei Raschhofer
Brauerei Raschhofer e.U. is a traditional family brewery in Altheim in the Austrian Innviertel region. According to its own account, the company has existed since 1645 and operates under the motto "The small brewery with the great beer". The beer is brewed over an open fire in full-copper pans, followed by careful open fermentation and maturation in small horizontal lagering tanks; it is bottled directly from the lagering tanks. Raw materials are barley malt from Upper Austria, aroma hops from the Mühlviertel, the Bavarian Hallertau and Tettnang, as well as caramel malt, water and various yeasts (wheat beer yeast, top-fermenting pale ale yeast). The range includes, among others, Zwickl, Classic, Märzen, Pils, wheat beer light and dark as well as Schnitt. The brewery distributes its beers via the hospitality industry and retail in Austria and operates a beer experience world with guided tours by the brewmaster, brewers and beer keepers.
