About Braun Mühle

Braun Mühle Dörnthal is a historic grain and oil mill in the Erzgebirge, today run as an inn with an attached in-house brewery and mill kitchen. The mill was first mentioned in records in 1559 and was taken over in 1902 by master miller Gustav Braun; until 2000, grain, oilseeds and, most recently, animal feed were processed here. Since 2010, the house-brewed Dörnthaler Mühlenbier has been produced in the company's own brewery. The historic mill technology, including a water turbine from the 1950s, has been fully preserved and can be viewed by prior appointment. The offering includes the mill kitchen, experiential gastronomy with events, and the arrangement of accommodation in the nearby Rabe holiday apartment.
