About PROTEGO
Braunschweiger Flammenfilter GmbH (PROTEGO) has been developing and manufacturing flame arresters (deflagration and detonation flame arresters, end-of-line and in-line), pressure/vacuum vent valves, emergency vent valves and tank equipment such as in-tank valves, floating suction devices, roof inlets and gauging and sampling devices since 1954. Products are made predominantly from steel, stainless steel and aluminium, with castings (sand casting, precision casting) and forged/flame-cut parts purchased and welded, assembled and tested in-house. All valves and flame arresters are flow-tested; the PROTEGO Technology Center in Braunschweig operates a certified flow test facility according to API 2000, DIN EN ISO 28300 and DIN EN ISO 16852, as well as a climate chamber (-70 °C to +150 °C), a cryogenic test rig and a salt spray chamber. Customers come from the oil and gas industry (up- and downstream), petrochemicals, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, cryogenics and hydrogen technology, marine and offshore, biogas and power-to-X applications as well as tank farms. The third-generation family business employs more than 750 people worldwide and delivers as an OEM component supplier as well as with engineering service, maintenance and repair.
