About Us
Breckle Matratzenwerk Weida GmbH is a Thuringian mattress and sleep furniture manufacturer with Swabian family roots, tracing back to the company's founding in 1932 and producing in Weida OT Hohenölsen since 1990. The Weida site comprises a mattress plant, a wood plant and the foam plant integrated in 2014. In the mattress plant, foam and innerspring mattresses are produced; in the wood plant, slatted frames, bed frames and upholstered furniture as well as upholstery parts. In the foam plant, polyurethane flexible foam is block-foamed on a continuous foam line; the foam blocks are processed in the company's own plant or converted according to external customer requirements. The raw materials are polyols and isocyanates (TDI) along with stabilizers, colorants and catalysts. Since 2019, the foams have been produced in a CO2-neutral manner; residual emissions are offset by the company via the Gold Standard climate project "BRUNNEN – For clean water in Uganda". In addition, since 2002 the company has manufactured medical devices such as medical mattresses, and since 2020 automated surgical masks Type IIR and CPA masks. With around 340 employees, Breckle Weida supplies specialty retailers, furniture stores and online retailers – under the Breckle brand or as the retailer's own private label.
