About Alte Ziegelei Twistringen
The Alte Ziegelei Twistringen is a non-profit cultural and experiential venue on the site of the former brickworks in Twistringen (Diepholz district, Lower Saxony). Supported by the associations Freunde der Alten Ziegelei e.V. and Brennwerk Ideen e.V. as well as the Heimat- und Bürgerverein and ziegel.event, the site offers workshops and event spaces: a forge with three anvils for courses and day rentals, a ceramics workshop with its own kiln for processing clay, studios, music rehearsal and recording rooms, carving and chainsaw courses, as well as the Pressenhalle, the Hot Oven, the Backstage, garden, meadow and forest for concerts, festivals, workshops and private celebrations. The historic tunnel kiln hall with its preserved tunnel kiln will become the future home of the Brennwerk creative centre; a co-working space is under development. The complex includes the listed manor house from 1903, the machine room with preserved historic brickworks machinery and the former clay pit, today a publicly accessible fossil pit.
