About Brillens

Brillens Eyewear is a Swiss company founded in 2020 in Stans in the Canton of Nidwalden, operating in the field of medical devices (eyewear). The company offers its own modular Smart System for ophthalmologist practices, allowing patients to select, try on, and order their glasses directly at their eye doctor. The system includes a Smart Display with frames and lenses for trying on, a Smart Mirror for digital try-on, and a Smart App, which allows the practice team to order the glasses in minutes; face images are captured, encrypted, and securely stored for feature recognition. The proprietary technology was developed by the founding team and refined with support from EPFL. The offering is complemented by Smart Paying (card or invoice payment) and Smart Support: the finished glasses are delivered by mail, the initial fitting through a network of partner opticians is free, and repairs and spare parts are also covered. The founding team includes Olivier Richoz (MD-PhD, Ophthalmology and Technology), Gabriel Tramaux (Optician, Products and Customer Service), and Bastien Machi (Engineer, Finance and Supply Chain).
