About British Engines Group
The British Engines Group was founded in 1922 in Newcastle upon Tyne and is today a global engineering group with nine specialised companies and around 1,600 employees in 12 countries. The group develops and manufactures performance- and protection-oriented products for energy, industry and critical systems. The portfolio includes the manufacture, supply and installation of medium-speed marine diesel engines as well as industrial generator sets up to 2 MW, complemented by maintenance, overhaul and spare parts supply for diesel engines. The subsidiary British Polar Engines in Glasgow manufactures and overhauls engine components such as crankshafts, cylinder heads, connecting rods, fuel equipment and engine pumps, and serves vessels ranging from ferries and warships to tugs and fishing boats. In addition to its core sites for design and production in the United Kingdom and operations in India and Germany, the group maintains sales and distribution offices in, among other countries, Australia, Canada, China, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, the UAE and the USA.
