About the Brökelmann Oil Mill
Brökelmann + Co – Oelmühle GmbH + Co is an independent, medium-sized company in the food industry headquartered in the port area of Hamm (Westphalia). The family business, founded in 1845, processes more than 1,500 tonnes of oilseeds daily, primarily rapeseed and soybeans, as well as sunflower kernels and safflower. The value chain covers the entire process from seed intake through cleaning, rolling, pressing in screw presses and extraction to oil refining and bottling. The product range includes rapeseed oil, cold-pressed rapeseed kernel oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, frying oil, vegetable fat and vegetable oil, bottled in glass and PET bottles, Bag in Box, IBC and tanker trucks – under the house brand BRÖLIO and as private labels for the retail trade. By-products such as rapeseed extraction meal, rapeseed cake and lecithin go to the animal feed and food industries as well as aquaculture. The oilseeds are stored in silos with a capacity of approximately 70,000 t at the port of Hamm.
