About us
Brötje Schaumtechnik GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1960 and has been producing technical foams at its Rastede site (Lower Saxony) for over 60 years. The company manufactures anatomically moulded SBR foam moulded parts in 2D and 3D from synthetic latex, marketed under the contourex® brand, complemented by contourex® MAX as a high-solid variant. In the manufacturing process, liquid latex is foamed, poured into specially developed moulds and vulcanised there with steam; unlike rolled material, this eliminates die-cutting edges, die-cutting waste and regrinding. All moulds, from sample moulds to production moulds, are manufactured in-house, predominantly by computer; the mould store comprises around 15,000 moulds. Production is exclusively order-related on a fully automated production line, followed by quality control and laboratory testing. The main customer industries are the footwear industry and the shoe care (Furnituren) industry.
