About Buchem
Buchem Chemie + Technik GmbH & Co. KG develops and produces, in its own manufacturing facility in Germany, chemical auxiliaries for plastics injection moulding, tool and mould making as well as electrical discharge machining (EDM). The product range includes corrosion protection and lubricants (Antikor, Neo range, Buflon), release agents, cleaners and degreasers, water treatment for wire and sinker EDM machines (inhibitors, flushing fluids, deionisation resin, WSC unit) as well as accessories and standard components. Particularly well known is the cleaning additive Interkor VP1026, which has been on the market for over 20 years; it is a non-abrasive product for cleaning the plasticising unit that reduces colour change times and saves granulate. For the food industry, Interkor VP1026 (category H2) and release agent C5 (category M1) are NSF registered. The products are continuously developed in close cooperation with customers and distributors; the field sales team collects feedback directly on site. The products, available in 27 countries, come from own production; orders placed by 12 noon are shipped the same day.

Materials / Active Ingredients
PTFE
Basis of the dry lubricating, sliding and release agents Buflon/Buflon GR, heat-resistant up to 260 °C.
Silicone oil
Highly dosed active ingredient of the release agent AK for demoulding plastic parts and maintaining water bath seals.
Petroleum (highly distilled)
Basis of the semi-synthetic rust remover Butol with water-displacing effect.
Steel
Target material of the corrosion protection and preservation agents Antikor RS/CL/HT.
Copper (drill electrodes)
Burn-off in start-hole and fast-hole EDM is carried away by the flushing fluids BP 50/BP 500.
Brass (drill electrodes)
Likely covered by the flushing fluids BP 50/BP 500 during EDM.
PVC
Subsequent corrosion damage after processing is prevented by Antikor CL.
POM
Antikor CL prevents subsequent corrosion damage after the processing of POM and other plastics.
Polyamide (flame-retardant grade)
Antikor CL also protects against corrosion after the processing of flame-retardant polyamide.

Additional services
Quality
Safety data sheets are provided free of charge for every product; for the food industry, Interkor VP1026 (NSF H2) and release agent C5 (NSF M1) are registered. The concentration of the EDM inhibitors BP 10/BP 20 is monitored using a hand-held refractometer.
