About Bucher Municipal
Bucher Municipal is a division of the Swiss corporate group Bucher Industries AG, headquartered in Niederweningen near Zurich. The product portfolio includes compact and large sweeping vehicles, winter maintenance equipment, sewer cleaning vehicles, waste compaction containers, and waste vehicles, including increasingly fully electric variants such as the CityCat series, as well as autonomous vehicles. The division was established in 1991 with the acquisition of Rolba Kommunaltechnik and has been consolidated under a unified brand presence since 2014 by merging the brands Bucher Schörling, Giletta, Gmeiner, Assaloni.Com, and MacDonald Johnston. Production and sales companies are located in Switzerland, Germany (Hannover), Latvia, South Korea, Australia, and Russia. In addition to vehicle manufacturing, the company offers extensive after-sales services through the spare parts e-shop, the Bucher Connect fleet management system, as well as training and repair planning. The company is certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and was awarded the German Innovation Award for Driving Assistance Systems in 2024.
