About the Büchsenmacher Meisterwerkstatt Waffen Kessler
The Büchsenmacher Meisterwerkstatt Waffen Kessler gunsmith master workshop in Deggendorf produces individual hunting rifles 100% handcrafted in Germany. The core product is the 'Kesslerin' stalking rifle, built since 1994, weighing 2.8 to 3 kg, based on a downscaled, faithful replica of the proven Mauser 98 system (Mod. 1908, matching serial numbers). All weapon parts are new fabrications from solid material: the receivers are CNC-milled and then hand-finished, and the patented Kessler direct trigger is manufactured in-house. Stocks are made from selected walnut wood with rosewood caps, hand-cut checkering (Fischhaut) and custom stock dimensions; refinishing includes sun-polish (Sonnenschliff) on the receiver, engravings by renowned engravers, gold inlay work and a brass-bar folding front sight. The Classic, Classic Neu SL (also left-handed), Stutzen and Katharina models for ladies are produced as custom one-off builds to customer specification. The location is the workshop with retail store at Land-Au 6 in Deggendorf; firearm and parts repairs as well as consultations are also offered there.
