Bürstner GmbH & Co. KG is a manufacturer of recreational vehicles headquartered in Kehl (Baden-Württemberg). Founded in 1924 as a joinery and construction carpentry business, the company today produces caravans, motorhomes and campervans – from the compact campervan to the semi-integrated motorhome up to 3.5 t. Vehicle production takes place in Germany at the Kehl Rhine port site; the in-house furniture manufacturing for vehicle interiors is located in Wissembourg (Alsace, France) at Bürstner SA. Since 1998 Bürstner has been part of the Erwin Hymer Group and, since 2019 as a member of it, of Thor Industries (USA). Sales and service are handled through a European dealer network of around 350 businesses, supplemented by an online configurator. The company employs around 850 staff (as of December 2018) and most recently generated revenue of approximately €280 million (2012/13).
