BÜTFERING stands for wide-belt sanding machines and surface technology in woodworking. The brand is now integrated into the HOMAG Group; BÜTFERING wide-belt sanding machines are sold as HOMAG wide-belt sanding machines (homag.com/buetfering). The portfolio includes sanding machines for wood and wood-based panel surfaces, including the SWT series with brush units for structuring and satin finishing. HOMAG also offers spare parts, retrofits, and software and control updates for existing BÜTFERING machines. The HOMAG Group develops integrated solutions of machines, automation, software, and service for the entire wood-processing value chain – from panel dividing and edge processing to storage technology. Target industries include the furniture industry, interior fitting, timber construction, and other woodworking sectors; materials processed are wood, wood-based materials, as well as plastics and composites.

Start of production of the U brush unit on BÜTFERING SWT series wide-belt sanding machines (brush diameter 150 mm, motor power 5.5 kW).
- ca. 2017
End of production of the U unit; its successor is the HOMAG U.
After the merger of all HOMAG subsidiaries, the U unit was revised and continued in the HOMAG SANDTEQ models; BÜTFERING wide-belt sanding machines are now sold as HOMAG wide-belt sanding machines.
