About the BDBe

The Federal Association of the German Bioethanol Industry (BDBe) is a registered association with its head office in Berlin, representing the positions of its member companies and associations vis-à-vis politics, business, science and the media. Its members cover the entire spectrum of the value chain of German bioethanol production: agricultural raw material production, logistics, industrial manufacturing and further processing of certified sustainable bioethanol including all co-products (animal feed, food, biomethane, bio-fertilizer) as well as the chemical industry. The association coordinates the political opinion-forming of the German bioethanol industry, publishes market data and statistics, and is engaged in DIN standardization committees and in the specialist advisory board of the BLE, as well as being a co-organizer of the Fuels of the Future expert congress. Since 2010, the BDBe has been an associate member of the European ethanol association ePURE and supported the REDcert certification system from the very beginning. The aim of its work is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in transport through the use of bioethanol as a petrol blend component and renewable base chemical.
