About Buss & Buss Spezialmetalle

Buss & Buss Spezialmetalle GmbH, based in Sagard on Rügen, has specialized for over 25 years in the recycling of metals and special materials, in particular refractory metals such as tantalum, rhenium and hafnium as well as niobium, gallium, germanium, zirconium and indium. The company implements the entire value chain – from the worldwide purchasing and disposal of pure and contaminated scrap, powders, sludges, turnings, crusts, furnace condensates and slags to finished pure tantalum in 99.9 % purity. The scrap is mechanically, thermally and chemically processed and converted into high-quality metals and their compounds. The company adapts chemical and physical product properties such as particle size, surface structure, grain size and consistency to customer requirements. The products are supplied, among others, to medical technology, microelectronics, mechanical engineering and aircraft manufacturing. The quality management for the processing and production of rhenium, hafnium and tantalum scrap as well as their production is certified to ISO 9001:2015.

Quality

The certified quality management system according to ISO 9001:2015 (DEKRA) ensures the integrity of the control chain, the traceability of the materials used in the end product, and the consistent quality of the products. The same procedures and control mechanisms are applied to niobium, zirconium, gallium and germanium.
