Bustec Production Ltd. develops and manufactures high-performance data acquisition systems and modular test systems based on open platform standards such as LXI, PXIe and VXI. Founded in 1997 by Dr. Fred Bloennigen and headquartered in Shannon, Ireland, the company produces LXI carriers, PXIe measurement cards, VXI motherboards and Slot-0 controllers, as well as isolated signal conditioning modules and its own data acquisition software ProDAQ DAAS. The modular function extension cards cover ADC and DAC conversion, digital I/O, counters/timers, switching and signal conditioning for measured quantities such as voltage, current, temperature, pressure, strain, sound and vibration, and achieve throughputs of up to 100 MB/s. Bustec systems are used in engine test benches, wind tunnels, gas turbine and nuclear power plant monitoring, medical device testing as well as in aerospace; customers include Airbus, Boeing, Siemens, Rolls-Royce, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin and NASA. Since 2000, the company has operated a branch in the USA and distributes its products worldwide through regional sales partners.
