About BWT
BWT (Best Water Technology) is a water technology group headquartered in Mondsee, Austria. The company develops and manufactures systems and products for on-site water treatment: filtration and backwash filters, softening, decarbonization, ion exchange systems for demineralization, membrane technologies such as micro-, ultra- and nanofiltration as well as reverse osmosis, UV and ozone systems, electrodialysis, electrodeionization, chlorine dioxide generators and dosing pumps. For the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, BWT produces high-purity water systems including generation, storage and distribution of Purified Water and Water for Injection (WFI), as well as pure steam generators and purified water stills. Further business areas are drinking water treatment for private households, hotels, swimming pools and spas, building services and industry, as well as pool construction and pool water treatment. The group employs around 6,500 staff worldwide at 13 production sites and supplies customers in more than 120 countries.

Andreas Weissenbacher founds BWT as part of a management buy-out from 'Benckiser Wasser Technik'; initially based in Hallein.
