The first German artist paint factory
C.Kreul GmbH & Co. KG is the first German artist paint factory and has been developing, producing and marketing paints for artists, children and creatives at its site in Hallerndorf, Franconia, since 1838. The portfolio includes artist acrylic paints, silk paints, fabric paints, glass and porcelain paints, window paints, finger paints as well as adhesives and varnishes. Production takes place entirely at one location: large mixers blend powdered and aqueous raw materials into paint, after which more than 5.000.000 containers per year are filled and packaged, ranging from 20 ml jars to 750 ml bottles. An in-house laboratory is responsible for product development and product maintenance, including the selection of pigments and binders. Over 100 employees handle the entire value chain from formulation development through production and quality inspection to logistics. Quality management operates according to ISO 9001; every production lot is inspected and released in a traceable manner. Through its ISO-14001 and FSC® certifications, this owner-managed family company documents its commitment to environmental management and responsible raw material sourcing.
