Lime producer with its own quarries
Calcis is a medium-sized group of companies in the lime industry with production sites in Lienen, Warstein and Wettringen. Calcium carbonate extracted from its own quarries is mined by blasting and excavator operation and burned in shaft and PFR kilns into quicklime (calcium oxide), part of which is subsequently slaked into hydrated lime (calcium dihydroxide). The product range includes quicklime, hydrated lime, natural lime, blend products, limestone crushed sand, agricultural lime and ready-to-use lime milk made to customer specifications. The products range from lump lime up to 60 mm grain size for steel production, via binders and fillers for sand-lime brick, aerated concrete and mortar, to soil stabilization and feed lime qualities. The central laboratory in Lienen offers application technology consulting, laboratory development of customized formulations and quality assurance with complete documentation. Lienen also houses the sales headquarters, while the administration is located in Haltern am See.
