About us
CAM Chemieanlagenbau GmbH is a supply, erection and plant engineering company based in Berlin with more than 70 years of experience in tank and vessel construction. The company plans, designs and fabricates flat-bottom tanks, gas holders, energy storage systems and large vessels made of carbon steel, stainless steel and duplex steel, and realizes projects from planning through fabrication to erection and commissioning. The service portfolio includes engineering, inspection and consulting services, maintenance and testing services as well as tank conversions, repairs and refurbishment. Another focus is the relocation of tanks and large vessels, including dismantling, commissioning, transport and re-erection, also across national borders. Reference projects range from silos for power plants (CHP Cottbus, CHP Frankfurt/Oder) to bioreactors for wastewater treatment in Leuna to digesters for the Al Awir sewage treatment plant in Dubai (U.A.E.). Customers include Deutsche Babcock, Dietrich Reimelt KG, IAB Leipzig, Lurgi Frankfurt and Passavant-Roediger Anlagenbau.

Materials and processes
Carbon steel (unalloyed steel)
Predominantly used material for flat-bottom tanks, depending on the stored product.
Carbon steel (unalloyed steel)
Typical grade for the construction of flat-bottom tanks.
Higher-strength carbon steel
Used when lower grades would require wall thicknesses above 40 mm.
Stainless steel (alloyed steels, various grades)
For special stored products; references are available for tanks up to 20,000 m³ volume.
Duplex steel
Combines the properties of alloyed steels with a lower nickel content; welding requires particular experience.
Induction preheating and post-weld heat treatment
Heat control during welding of thick-walled and higher-strength steels.
