About Campbell Scientific
Campbell Scientific was founded in 1974 by brothers Eric and Evan Campbell in Logan, Utah, and develops and manufactures measurement and control instrumentation for environmental monitoring. The product portfolio includes dataloggers such as the CR1000Xe, IoT edge devices (Aspen10), sensors for water quality, soil, weather and energy, as well as communication peripherals for data retrieval. Systems are configured for unattended long-term monitoring in water bodies, aquifers, wastewater treatment plants, aquaculture, landfills and industrial facilities, often as custom solutions with sensors and telemetry. The European subsidiary Campbell Scientific Ltd., based in Shepshed, Loughborough (UK), manages the business in the EU and operates its own R&D facilities, among other things for optical sensors for cloud height, visibility and weather detection. Since the introduction of the first datalogger, the CR5, in 1975, more than 391,000 dataloggers have been manufactured. Campbell Scientific serves industries such as weather and climate monitoring, water, renewable energy, micrometeorology, infrastructure, soil and mining monitoring, and is represented with offices on several continents.
