About CAPTRON
CAPTRON Electronic GmbH is a mid-sized, family-owned manufacturer of capacitive and optical sensors as well as complete control systems, headquartered in Olching near Munich. Since 1983, the company has developed and produced SENSORswitches with capacitive touch function, level sensors, optical object detection sensors and LED signal units – on an order basis and partly as customer-specific special developments from concept through prototype to series production. The electronics are waterproof-potted; housing and component materials include stainless steel (1.4404/V4A), anodized aluminum, polycarbonate, PTFE, PEEK and TPU, with EHEDG-certified hygienic versions for the food industry. Customer industries include Industrial Automation, robotics, bus and rail, building technology, intralogistics, Food & Beverage, medical technology and aviation. In addition to sensor technology (CAPTRON Technologies), the company offers individual software development, process consulting (Lean Management) and project management under the CAPTRON Solutions brand. Via branches in Germany, Poland, China and the USA as well as a worldwide sales network, CAPTRON supplies customers in many countries.

Quality & Certification
Every product is visually and electronically tested before delivery; a special test machine is used for the functional testing of the SENSORswitches. Before series production, climate tests, chemical, impact and EMC tolerance tests as well as certifications (e.g. TÜV, accredited EMC laboratories) are carried out.

Foundation of “captron electronic Fertigungs- und Vertriebs GmbH” by Reinhard Bellm in Mammendorf near Munich; start with capacitive level sensors.
- 1991
Relocation to Munich-Aubing (Bodenseestrasse); office and production space grows to approx. 500 m².
