CARBO Kohlensäurewerke GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Bad Hönningen, is a mid-sized owner-managed company founded in 1910 and one of the largest producers of natural carbon dioxide in Germany. The portfolio includes carbon dioxide of natural origin from the Vulkaneifel region as well as biogenic and recycled carbon dioxide from chemical processes, dry ice in the form of pellets, nuggets, slices and snow (−78,5 °C), and technical gases such as nitrogen in various purities. In addition to supply in steel cylinders, cylinder bundles, mini-tank and bulk tank systems, CARBO develops, plans and installs systems for the application of carbon dioxide and handles commissioning and maintenance. Supplementary offerings include dry ice blasting technology for surface cleaning, CARVEX pressure disinfestation for biological stored-product protection, pelletizers for on-site dry ice production at the customer, and an in-house logistics fleet certified to ISO 22000. Customers include companies from the beverage industry, gastronomy, food industry, plastics industry, foundry technology, welding technology, pharmaceuticals, event technology and agriculture. With around 190 employees, CARBO is represented nationwide through sales companies and warehouse locations.
