About CarbonVision
CarbonVision GmbH manufactures high-precision optical breadboards, breadboards for optical tables and structural components made of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP). The company combines high-strength and high-modulus carbon fibers with modern composite engineering to create components for applications requiring stiffness, low weight, damping and thermal stability. The mounting surfaces of the breadboards are ground to a flatness of +/- 50 µm or better; the lateral precision of inserted mounting inserts is +/- 100 µm. Optionally, components can be mounted from the rear via mounting inserts inserted into the carbon fiber tubes. For cleanroom applications, there is a CA version with removable side walls and an open design for easier cleaning. Customers come from optics, precision mechanics, laser technology, sensor technology, spectroscopy, aerospace as well as research and science, including PTB Braunschweig, European XFEL, MIT Space and MPIA Heidelberg. The company is located in Unterschleißheim near Munich.

Materials and Processes
Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer
Composite material with high stiffness, low weight, good damping and a low coefficient of thermal expansion for breadboards and structural components.
High strength carbon fibers
High-strength carbon fibers for weight reduction at high stiffness, up to 75 % lighter than steel breadboards.
High modulus carbon fibers
Stiffness-enhancing fiber grade, among other things for optimizing the coefficient of thermal expansion through fiber selection and orientation.
