About Carborundum
Carborundum Schleifmittelwerk GmbH, based in Wuppertal, has been active in the production of abrasives for over 100 years. The company manufactures grinding wheels in resinoid (Bakelite), ceramic and rubber bonds with diameters up to 1.280 mm and maximum operating speeds of up to 100 m/s. The abrasive grains used include corundum, Fused Corundum, silicon carbide (SiC), zirconia alumina and regular aluminium oxide. The product range includes, among other things, snagging and swing-frame wheels, centerless grinding wheels, roll grinding wheels, hot-pressed slab grinding wheels, cutting wheels as well as hand-operated dressers and grinding segments. In addition to the standard programme, the company develops custom special fabrications for specific grinding applications on request and manufactures them "Made in Germany"; OEM production is available for distributors. The products are distributed directly or via exclusive partners in over 150 countries and are used, among other applications, in foundries, steel mills, forging technology, the aluminium foil and paper industries as well as by grinding machine manufacturers.
