About CarboTech

CarboTech AC GmbH is a manufacturer of powdered, granulated and extruded activated carbon headquartered in Essen in the Ruhr area. The company operates integrated production facilities for the production, processing and packaging of activated carbons, activated coke and carbon molecular sieves (CMS). The service portfolio includes activation, reactivation (including fluidized-bed and rotary kiln processes), impregnation, contract grinding, mobile filter systems (Plug & Clean) as well as an exchange service with silo and multi-chamber vehicles. In addition, CarboTech offers laboratory and analysis services, consulting, training, waste disposal and logistics. The products are used, among other things, in air and gas purification, biogas and natural gas treatment, drinking water and wastewater treatment, hydrogen purification, gold recovery as well as in the food and beverage industry. The company's roots go back to the 1938 Steinkohlenbergbauverein (Hard Coal Mining Association) and Bergbau-Forschung GmbH; since 2005 it has belonged to the International Chemical Investors Group.
